Artist’s statement

I had been making Stained Glass since the 1990s when my husband gave me a glass starter kit and lessons -- as I was a fine arts graduate; he thought I needed a hobby! My love of colors and design and just “glass” with its transparency and reflectivity of light fit right into my life. Then, we sailed the Mediterranean for six years and saw many beautiful and inspiring mosaics. I was blown away with work by ancient artists, so I decided to add their technique to my work. Mosaics allow a more detailed and intricate picture than stained glass.

Both techniques keep me happily coming back to glass and stones. There is no limit to what I might work on next; I will just keep on enjoying my voyage.
